Your passenger is frail and needs help to reach their front door. The street has parking restrictions. What does the handbook advise?
Answer: B (Spend as little time away as you can, and note the booking details in case of a PCN.)
No general rule lets you leave your car to help a passenger into a building, but some councils accept that this is part of your job. If you do help, be quick, and write down the passenger's details or booking in case a PCN arrives. (Section 6 · page 27, 'Stopping and waiting')
Watch outHelping a passenger does not protect you from a PCN. Your note is only evidence, and the council decides.
