Railways, footbridges and dead ends
Route rules. Last checked 3 Nov 2026.
A railway is a barrier. Cross it only where a road crosses it: on a bridge, in a tunnel or at a level crossing.
A footbridge or a footpath over a road or a railway is not a road.
A dead end is a street that stops. You can't drive out of the far end.
A road that stops at a railway or a park doesn't carry on just because a road with the same name starts on the other side.
Check for dead ends near the finish before you draw.
