TfL asks for the most direct route but doesn't define it. Plan the shortest legal route.
Don't wander away from the destination to reach a bigger road.
In our practice score, a route within 3% of the best legal route gets full marks. Longer routes lose marks on a sliding scale.
In our practice score, one move the map doesn't allow scores 0 for the whole route. We think the test does the same.
