Bus-only streets, bus lanes and restricted roads
Roads you can't use. Last checked 3 Nov 2026.
Red stripes mean restricted access. The road is not for your route.
Some streets are for buses (and often taxis) only. Treat Oxford Street, Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road as bus-only. Our map draws them as restricted.
A bus gate closes a short stretch of road to cars.
Our map draws these with red stripes too (orange: only at some times). Don't use them, not even a short part.
A bus lane against the arrows of a one-way street doesn't let you drive that way.
Bollards and gates (red dots) block the road at that point.
