Long routes in stages
Route rules. Last checked 3 Nov 2026.
Don't try to plan a long route in one go.
Pick a midpoint about halfway: a main road or a big junction. Plan start to midpoint, then midpoint to finish.
Main roads are often the most direct over a long way, but check every turn.
If it helps, draw a quick helper line first. Then Clear it and draw your real route.
Keep to about 12 minutes. At 15, flag it and move on.
3 map questions on this rule, free. The drill opens in our trainer.
